Huntington Beach is one of my favorite cities in Orange County. With the beach just footsteps away the ocean breeze blowing through your hair and people walking around in their favorite sunglasses and rainbow sandals the city evokes the quintessential Southern California lifestyle. Recently, Huntington Beach welcomed a new quick bite diner to Surf City, Miguel’s JR, a casual Mexican restaurant and celebrated Southern California staple. I attended their Grand Opening alongside prominent members of the community to welcome this new business.
I had a great time and want to share the wealth – so I’m throwing a GIVEAWAY!!! through all my social media accounts throughout the month! This week I will give two $10 Giftcards for my blog fans!

They have an extensive menu, I’d love to try their wet style Miguel’s Jr. Original (apparently since 1975!) burrito! Must be good since it’s under their “Famous Burrito” category.

Tacos, in my mind’s eye the pure essence of Mexican food is Taco. Stemming back from my experience with the hard shell taco Bell tacos all the way to the street tacos of Mexico, the taco is epitome of Mexican food.
I am most excited to try the carne asada street tacos. As an amateur culinarian, I understand that the simplest of foods are most often the most difficult to do well. Therefore the simple carne asada taco should be the true test of the rest of the menu.
… It’s a shame they don’t have chilaquiles (or is there a hidden menu).
